He worked his way up through the ranks as a Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Training Chief, Battalion Chief and Assistant Chief with Lakewood Fire District 2, and then West Piece Fire and Rescue after the two districts merged. From 2015 - 2017 he served as the Fire Academy Chief at Bates Technical College.

Mr. Keohi has earned certifications as a Live Burn Instructor, HAZMAT instructor, HAZMAT Incident Commander, HAZMAT Technician, NIMS Incident Commander, Blue Card Incident Commander, Blue Card Instructor, Certified State Evaluator, and Certified Safety Officer. As well as having been a former EMT of over 30 years, he wrote the confined space training manual for Bates Technical College.

“The City of DuPont is fortunate to have found such a qualified candidate. His combination of experience, values and leadership make him the ideal person to serve as DuPont’s next Fire Chief. He will be a great asset for the City and residents.” said Mayor Courts.
