Community Development

The Community Development Department is responsible for the planning and building activities in the City. The City of DuPont is a growing community. Working together, the Building, Planning, and Engineering divisions enhance the community by planning wisely, regulating appropriately, assisting professionally, and ensuring that the City continues to grow at a responsible rate consistent with adopted regulations.

Planning Division

The Planning division provides long-range planning and development services including zoning and growth management, environmental and land use regulation, and administers land use permit applications.

Building Division

The Building division staff handle all aspects of the building process, including permitting, plan review and inspections.

Permitting Division

The Permitting Division provides administrative and technical support in the processing, issuance, and tracking of Building, Planning, and Public works permits.

Engineering Services

The Engineering division is responsible for planning, designing, administering, inspecting and overseeing the transportation and utility infrastructures of the City. The division is involved in preplanning, design review, right-of-way and utility coordination, as well as providing engineering expertise for the Capital Facilities Program (CFP) and for other City departments.
