Arbor Day Foundation Names DuPont Tree City USA for the 12th Year

The City of DuPont was named a 2020 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for our commitment to effective urban forest management.

DuPont achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program's four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

The Tree City sign located at Center Drive near I-5 Exit 118 will be updated with a 12th year sticker when it arrives.

Trees reduce costs for energy, stormwater management, and erosion control; cut energy consumption by up to 25%, boost property values across your community, build stronger neighborhood and community ties, provide wildlife habitat, among countless other benefits.

A special thanks to our Tree Board who helped make this accomplishment possible.
