As part of our strong relationship with our counterparts at JBLM, the DuPont Police Department has “adopted” the 62nd Airlift Wing, 627th Security Forces Squadron (Military Police) as our partner military law enforcement unit. Our brothers and sisters there invited us to participate in their Police Week activities. Earlier this week, DPD Officer Kyle Drake finished 3rd in their “Police Week 2021 Ruck Event” road march….and did so with a full pack, and everything that he – and every other police officer – wears during a 12-hour patrol shift: a full duty belt, jumpsuit and bulletproof vest. Officer Drake and the Military Police Officers of the 627th Security Forces Squadron did this event to honor all fallen law enforcement officers and their families.
Our thanks to the commander of the 627th Security Forces Squadron, Major David Nugent, and his entire team for allowing us this extremely meaningful honor, and THANK YOU to Officer Drake for representing the DuPont Police Department in such an outstanding manner!
